Seasonic X-1250 1250W 80Plus Gold EPS12V / ATX12V Power Supply
This is the mothership of all power supplies. The packaging was amazing and I've never seen such attention to detail before with a power supply. I haven't built a computer in awhile, so I was grateful for the modular layout. The SeaSonic cables are thick, but beautifully wrapped. I had no problems with any of the cables. I reversed the PSU in my chassis to take advantage of the fan blowing air downward (instead of up into the chassis). Please note that this power supply is scary smart and the fan only operates when needed. Further, it uses pull technology so if you plug the PSU into power ... nothing happens - lol. You have to draw power to make it work.I am completely satisfied with this power supply and I'd recommend SeaSonic (in general) to anyone. They make a quality product and they certainly pay attention to every detail.

If you require mission-critical stability or you simply want one of the best power supplies available, the Professional Series Gold is for you.A Fully Modular Cabling System All cables detach from the power supply. During installation, this gives you the flexibility of using only the cables you need for a clean system build with optimal airflow. And, when it's time to replace or upgrade your power supply, it can be removed from your system without interfering with your cabling - the cables stay in place and connect…
Pros: This is the best power supply you can get, its efficient, quiet, modular cable and it looks great. The fan only spins when you reach 20% power usage (170W). The fully modular design allows me to use only cables that i need in my build, therefore keeping the inside of the case nice and clean for great air-flows. Tight tolerance voltages which will keep my components safe. There are plenty of spare cable for future upgrades. Its 80plus gold efficiency which means that it will save me some electricity bills and over the lifetime of this power supply, it will pay for it self.Cons: Expensive, but you pay for what you get. If you want the best, be prepared to dish out the $. The 8-pin and the 24-pin aren't long enough for my HAF-X case when I route them behind the motherboard, have to buy extension cables for them.A good power supply is a long term investment for your computer; don't cheap out on it.

Stable 1200W continuous output (at 50? operating environment) Four independent & dedicated +12V rails(12V1,12V2,12V3,12V4) provides superior performance for PC system. NEW! Three 8pin and three 6pin PCI-E connectors design supports Multi-GPU Graphic card. Supports Dual Core CPU / Quad Core CPU / Nvidia SLI & Quad SLI and all Multi-Core GPU technologies. Modularized Cable Management to eliminate clutter and improve airflow inside the case. Active Power Factor Correction (PF>0.99) and high efficiency (up to 87%).
Strong stable voltages across most rails.Huge fan keeps supply cool, and even though it's so large, it's very silent.Lots of connectors for graphics cards, drives, and other devices you may have.Only problem I had was fitting this into my Thermaltake Kandalf, which is a full tower. I had to disassemble the case just to force it in. Because it's so long, I'm unable to mount one of the fans to the top of my case.Other than than, if you're looking for a power supply that will last a long time, this is it.

Ultra has taken a whole new approach to computer power supplies with the Ultra X4 Modular Power Supply. With Ultra's patened Modular Design, you only connect the cables which you need increasing airflow and giving your chassis that nice clean-look. The Ultra X4 Modular Power Supply uses a 135mm fan improves airflow throughout the chassis while keeping noise at a minimum. The Ultra X4 Modular Power Supply is intergrated short circuit protection and thermal overload sensors automatcially protects the PC when surges or overheating become an issue. With 3 year standard and lifetime warranty available upon registration, Ultra's customer service meets the highest industry standards.
I have a PC enthusiast, I noticed that one of the outputs for the graphics card does not work, usually uses 2 power connections, just had to relocate. My concern is when you have 2 cards in Crossfire and take the equipment to 100%. I do not know what happened because the power supply is connected to the UPSWhat I like is that it brings good number of connections, you can feed a lot of units with a large case.

For users with mission-critical systems or file servers, nothing is more important than a power supply with always up reliability and redundancy. With the pervious venerable Gemini ST46GF and ST55GF models as the starting point, SilverStone improves every aspect of the former from specification to user impression. By combining proven industrial grade components and a focus on performance, the amazing dual 500W independent power packs stowed inside a PS/2 frame enable the possibility to enjoy the bullet-proof security of a 24/7 server in just about any case and any system!
This is not your average power supply. There is no reason for putting this in a desktop. This power supply is for up time-critical applications. I.e. minutes of down time cost some serious money $$. For example, I have Doctor A who sees patients every hour, he makes ~$300 per patient. If the power supply were to fail, he/she would have to call an I.T. tech or attempt to reinstall a power supply by himself. Let's assume this takes at least an hour. (Which is quite low considering how long it would take to diagnose a PSU failure and the amount of time for the I.T. tech to get there). The Doctor has now just lost $300 in that hour and needs to buy a new power supply (~500W is about $60-80 for a good brand) and needs to pay the I.T. tech to diagnose/switch out the power supply (~200-300 for emergency onsite IT services). Now the total loss in that hour is about $300+$200+$80=$580). Now if Doctor A had a redundant PSU, he would hear an audible alarm should one of the units fail and can replace it by simply pulling out of the failed unit why the computer is on and replace it with a new one. No downtime. A UPS serves a different purpose than a redundant PSU.Pros:- It is in fact 80+ Silver Certified instead of 80+ Bronze as Amazon's description indicates- 500W redundant- Relatively low price- Audible alarm- LED indicator if your prefer a visual alarm- Will fit ATX midtowers/full towers (even though it is mini/PS2)Cons:- Heavy (takes about 9/10 screws vs the 4 screws on a standard ATX…

Good:- Visible parts/included cables are high quality- Manual/instructions great- Other online professional reviews say psu has great efficiency & noise- Great flexibility in connectors/cables for numerous system components- love the sata power cablesBad:- Numerous complaints in the ocz forums about failing fans or manufacturing defects or low quality parts- Concerns that included fan has wrong direction by default (brings air into system rather than out, not great for top mount)- since purchasing this unit, I've had a cpu fail and numerous system lockups...motherboard/ambient temperature is also higher than it should be- Feeling behind the PSU, their is very little air movement even though the fan is running at full speed- I have numerous additional fans in my system, and should have good ventilation..starting to ponder if psu just causing issues

SILVERSTONE ST1500 1500W ATX12V/EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Silver Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply - Retail
When I was looking for power supply, a power supply calculator suggested I'd need minimum 1050w so I checked around at 1200w and 1500w. Silverstone's web site had a list of max supported video cards and more, including claiming that ST1500 supported 4x GTX 580.This power supply does not quite live up to its advertised claim of handling 4x GTX 580 (on their own web site). The first power supply I got wouldn't run when I had 2 or more GTX 580. I returned it to Amazon for exchange. The second one did run with 3 GTX 580 but shuts down within seconds of powering on when I had 4th GTX 580. I shuffled the video card around, no matter which 3 I used, it always worked with 3 but not 4. I suspected a bad batch of Siverstone ST1500 from Amazon and got replacement from another source. The ATX 12v wires melted in seconds when I started stress testing with Prime95 plus Furmark 3D, and then it wouldn't work at all. 3 failures and never got to run 4x GTX 580 at once stable. Plus melting wires = fire hazard if it was near any combustible materials like paper.I don't know how they tested ST1500 to work with 4x GTX 580, maybe they used a separate power supply for motherboard and drives? Or they really cheapened on internal parts after the initial testing and never updated the test to reflect the weaker performance? Either way, it performs like a cheap no name 1000w power supply. After giving up on ST1500 and got a pair of "Quality Brand" 600w power supply in parallel (1200w combined max…

To meet the ever higher requirements imbued by professional users and enthusiasts alike, SilverStone created the Strider Gold series power supplies. The Strider Gold models are built on similar platform as the award-winning Strider Plus series but with even higher efficiency ratings. The Strider Gold series will encompass wattage range from 750W to 1200W for a great variety of applications. In addition to 80 PLUS Gold level efficiency, all models are built to meet very high standards in electrical performance so they have ±3% voltage regulation, ±3% ripple & noise, and high amperage single +12V rail. Other notable features also included are 24/7 40 degree Celcius continuous output capability, Japanese capacitors, low-noise 135mm fan, and multiple sets of PCI-E cables. For users looking for a power supply with faultless combination of performance, efficiency, and quality, there is no need to look beyond the Strider Gold Series.
This is one fantastic power supply. All the power on one rail (a must!) and great modular cabling. Very quiet. The one downside is no on/off switch, but it's definitely not a deal-breaker. I highly recommend this power supply.

Design with quality circuits which specialized in efficiency, achieve over 88% efficiency, provide 5 year warranty
This product looked great on paper, but when I installed it I had to first play around with the power cord many times just to get the power led turn on. Every time I turn on my rig it shuts down after a mater of seconds then reboots. It is very frustrating and I sent it to a professional and he was even confused. Now I have to RMA the product but I heard that a lot of people had this same problem so the new one might just have the same problem. Bottom line is that it is a very Flaky and unstable product.

SeaSonic Platinum-1000 1000W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Modular Power Supply
I purchased this power supply unit back in Aug. 2011 from Newegg, for a gamer/work horse desktop. It was on pre-order for quite some time, at Newegg. I got it for $237, but with Newegg's shipping costs and sales tax, it winded up costing me more than what Amazon's price is, now. I had some issues with my ASUS Deluxe motherboard, but as soon as I resolve them, I'll post some pics of my new build with this Seasonic PSU. Here are some key features it has:Seasonic Platinum-860 and Platinum-1000 PSU Key Features:860/1000 watt continuous power output (up to 50°C)80Plus Platinum certified super high efficiency7-Year warrantyFull modular DC Connector Panel features integrated VRMs (3.3V and 5V)Hybrid Silent Fan Control (3 modes of operation: Fanless, Silent and Cooling)High-quality Sanyo Denki San Ace dual ball bearing fan with PWMHigh +12V output (71A/83A)Tight voltage regulation (±2%)Supports high-end graphic cards with four/six 6/8-pin PCI-E connectorsHigh-quality Japanese capacitors for maximum durability (105°C)Solid conductive polymer aluminum capacitors for enhanced stabilityDual sided PCB layoutHigh current Gold plated terminals with Easy Swap connectorsActive PFC with Universal AC input

Silent Pro hybrid 1300W is part of Cooler Master's first fully modular power supply series with integrated dual 7V fan ports. It utilizes a single powerful +12V rail that operates at over 90% efficiency and carries an 80Plus Gold certification. A fan speed controller is included in the package. It occupies a 5.25" drive bay and enables a user to control the Silent Pro Hybrid 135mm silent Hydraulic Bearing fan along with up to three system fans.
I purchased this for a new PC I was building. I like the fully modular cables that seem well thought-out. I especially like the fact that the cables are flat, making them much easier to hide behind the motherboard tray! One challenge I am having relates to the warranty coverage. The documentation with the unit and the CoolerMaster website both state that the warranty period is 5 years, but when I registered it shows the warranty period to by only 2 years. After about three email exchanges with Customer Service the issue was finally corrected.I am also a little confused about three cables included in the package that appear to be fan extension cables (Item 3.8 in the included manual). Its my guess that they are for connecting 4 wire case fan connectors to the 3 wire fan controller panel, but I am not really sure. All my case fans are 3 wire, so I guess I will have to buy my own fan power extension cables.

Thermaltake TP-1350M Toughpower 1350W 80Plus Silver Active PFC Power Supply
The Thermaltake Toughpower 1350W Power Supply is designed with high quality and high performance in mind. For those that like to push their computers to the limits. My Windows computer, that I also use for powerful 3D games, had dual Geforce 295 video cards (2 GPU's each), for 4 GPU's total, and Quad-SLI.Along with the Intel Core i7 quad core CPU, this system can be quite demanding on the power supply.I needed a power supply powerful enough for today, and the future.Once I got this power supply, I upgraded to the latest Motherboard, Asus Rampage III Extreme, the Intel Core i7 Extreme 980X six-core CPU, and dual Geforce 580 video cards. The power supply handles this easily. It also has modular cable, with enough connector for 4 powerful video cards, several hard drives, optical drives, etc.Overall, it's a great power supply, with high efficiency, and 5 year warranty.

PC Power and Cooling, one of the best in the business in PSU units, nuff said. Got it at a great price, thanks Amazon. Some people like the modular psu units, but they are multi-rail, not single rail and single rail is better. Especially when you are building that super killer system with the three to four video cards and the six-core procs with the matching high end memory. Hope that low amp multi rail holds up, NOT.
